Tee off at the only Arnold Palmer, signature-designed golf course in coastal California. Our Carlsbad resort’s golf club is home to remarkable Batiquitos Lagoon nature preserve views and the Aviara Golf Academy.  Named the #1 golf resort in Southern California by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler and recognized as one of the country’s best resort golf courses by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.  Aviara Golf Club features a memorable coastal layout: Uniquely sculpted around rolling hillsides and landscaped with wildflowers native to Southern California, the par 72 course offers plenty of bunkers and water features over 7,007 yards.

Activity Transportation:  

• Shuttles: A 27-passenger mini-coach will provide transportation between Park Hyatt Aviara Resort and Aviara Golf Club. Look for the mini-coach that says ALFN Golf Shuttle.  Departures from the resort front entrance are scheduled for 11:35 AM and 11:55 AM. Return transportation will begin around 5:15 PM and continue until all golfers have returned to the resort. Guests may also use the resort's complimentary shuttle service, which can be requested through the valet desk at the resort or through any golf club staff member.
• Self-Parking: Complimentary parking is available at Aviara Golf Club for attendees who prefer to drive themselves rather than utilize the ALFN Golf shuttle service or resort shuttle service.

 
Arrival Instructions: Please arrive at Aviara Golf Club no later than 12:00 PM. There will be no golfer registration at the course. Golf carts will be staged and labeled with player names. You may proceed directly to your assigned cart or visit the golf shop if you need to purchase supplies or arrange club or shoe rentals.  
If you ordered and paid for golf club rentals through your ANSWERS registration (which includes six golf balls and a golf glove), your clubs will be pre-staged on your golf cart. Golfers who did not reserve clubs in advance may inquire at the golf shop regarding availability and rental pricing. Adidas golf shoe rentals are available for $25.​

Each golfer will receive the following items courtesy of our golf activity sponsors: a sleeve of golf balls (Metz Lewis Brodman Must O’Keefe), a premium cigar (Trustee Corps), and hand sanitizer (Kelley Kronenberg).
 
Golf Activity Format: Teams will compete in a 3-4 player scramble format. A maximum of two putts per green is permitted. There are no mulligans. Maximum score on any hole is bogey. Shotgun start is at 12:30 PM.  To allow ample time to return to the resort and enjoy the evening dinner, golfers are encouraged to maintain pace of play throughout the round, with expected completion around 5:30 PM.

Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place teams, as well as contest-hole winners. Winners will be recognized during Monday evening's dinner via a display board. Prizes will be shipped following the conference from Global Strategic (Frogg Toggs insulated tumblers with built-in speakers, branded golf balls, custom leather driver club covers, branded backpacks).
 
Food & Beverage: A beverage cart will be available and beer, seltzers, bottled water, sports drinks and other non-alcoholic beverages, and light snacks are courtesy of ALFN and our beverage sponsor, Nestor.  Premium items or additional purchases beyond those provided may be purchased individually. Food and beverage service is also available for purchase at Ember & Rye, located above the clubhouse. 

Dress Attire: All golfers must wear golf shirts with collars.  Shorts are permitted (please, no higher than 4” above the knee).  Denim is not permitted.  Golf shoes with metal spikes are not allowed.  Please understand that players who do not have the proper attire will not be given access to the course. Sunscreen is recommended, and golfers are encouraged to stay hydrated throughout the round

north county microbrewery tour | $415

Activity Time: 12:45-4:30 PM (approximately 3.5 hours; first brewery stop is approximately 20–25 minutes from the resort).  Load into Pinzgauer Safari Vehicles at the resorts front entrance at 12:45 PM. 

Activity Description: North County is where most of the “top dogs” in the craft brewery industry got their start, and this tour will include a few of them.

You will be picked up on 6-wheel Pinzgauer Safari Vehicles and we will visit 3 breweries in the Oceanside area, including Pure Project, Green Cheek, and Culver Breweries. You will partake in beer tastings and enjoy light bites at each of the brewery stops, plus beers and water on board the transportation vehicles.
 
What to Wear & Bring: Please bring a valid photo ID and a form of payment for any additional purchases. Wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat are recommended 

What’s Included: Each participant will receive a hat, courtesy of Lender Legal.

• 1:20 pm: Stop at Culver Brewery (beer tasting flight or any pint on the menu, with sandwiches)

 

• 2:05 pm: Depart Culver Brewery to Green Cheek Brewery

 

• 2:15 pm: Green Cheek Brewery tasting (2 x 10 oz beers) with Fries and Pretzels

COastal solana beach e-bike tour | $395

Activity Time: 12:30-5:00 PM (90-minute guided e-bike tour, followed by approximately 1–1.5 hours at Brigantine Del Mar Restaurant; approximately 20 minutes from the resort).  Load into 37 passenger mini-coach at the resort front entrance at 12:30 PM. 

Activity Description: Solana Beach is a lovely beach town that captures the true essence of San Diego County. Come and explore this beautiful town from a local’s perspective. Solana Beach is filled with scenic views and great year-round weather. We believe the best way to visit this town is to explore it on an e-bike! 

Guests will ride on Rad Power or Electra Townie Go bikes for this one-of-a-kind tour (90 minutes of riding time). These are electric bikes, so the electric motor assists with your pedaling. Following the ride, ALFN guests will enjoy a social atmosphere with drinks and light bites at the Brigantine Del Mar Restaurant (1-1.5 will be spent hours at the restaurant).  Complimentary water is available on the bus.

Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  275 lb. maximum rider weight capacity.

No advanced cycling experience is required, and the electric-assist bikes make riding comfortable and enjoyable for most participants.
 
What to Wear & Bring: Please bring a valid photo ID and a form of payment for any additional purchases. Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat are recommended.

Activity Time: 12:15-5:15 PM (2-hour private catamaran charter; approximately 45–60 minutes travel time each way). Load into the motorcoach at the resort front entrance at 12:15 PM. 

Activity Description: With 34 miles of scenic waterfront, catamaran sailing in San Diego has so much to offer with the rugged cliffs of Point Loma and its historic lighthouses, the beautiful skyline of downtown and charming Seaport Village, the Maritime Museum with one of the world’s finest collections of historic ships, and the elegant Coronado Bridge and historic Hotel Del Coronado above scenic Glorietta Bay and the Navy’s Pacific Fleet. Sea lions, dolphins, and even the occasional whale can also be seen in the Bay.  We will have a private charter on the Aolani catamaran. 

What to Wear & Bring: Please bring a valid photo ID and a form of payment for any additional purchases. Dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather, and consider bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and a light jacket or sweater, as conditions on the water can be cooler than onshore. 

If you are prone to motion sickness, please take appropriate precautions prior to departure. While the Aolani is a large and stable catamaran, water conditions may occasionally be choppy.  If you’re concerned, consider taking motion sickness medication 30 minutes before boarding, stay hydrated, and focus on the horizon if you feel uneasy.
 
What’s Included: Wine, beer, hard seltzer, non-alcoholic beverages, and light appetizers will be provided during the private two-hour cruise. Appetizers include assorted cheeses and charcuterie, petite sandwiches, and desserts. Complimentary bottled water will also be available during motorcoach transportation. A waterproof phone holder will be provided compliments of Johnson Blumberg & Associates.

Activity Time: 1:00-5:00 PM 

Activity Description: Embrace the warmth and sunshine of the Carlsbad coast at The Ocean View Pool (Adults-Only Pool) at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, offering a relaxed setting featuring six spacious, private cabanas set against the backdrop of the Batiquitos Lagoon and Pacific Ocean. This is intended to be a casual networking activity where attendees may relax, enjoy the pool facilities, and connect with fellow conference participants throughout the afternoon. 

Pool Access: The Ocean View Pool will be closed to resort guests and reserved exclusively for ALFN ANSWERS attendees who registered for this activity.  The Ocean View Pool is identified as Location #12 on the resort map which you can view at  https://parkhyattaviara.com/documents/621/Resort_Map.pdf. Take the guest room elevators (near the Aviara market) down to the first floor and exit out the double doors to the left to access the pool. The first gate entrance will take you to the Splash pool and restaurant, the second gate (farther gate) will take you to the Ocean View pool where this activity is located.

Six private cabanas will be available for attendee use. Each cabana accommodates up to eight guests and includes an L-shaped sofa, two lounge chairs, mini refrigerator, fan, and television. Cabanas are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please do not reserve seats for attendees who are not yet present.
 
If all cabanas are occupied, attendees may use any of the approximately 80 lounge chairs located throughout the pool area. Pool towels will be provided.
 
Food & Beverage: Complimentary food and beverages will be available at the private pool bar reserved for activity participants. Please present the wristband provided by ALFN at conference registration to the pool bar attendant to receive included beverages.  Additional food & beverages may be purchased at your own expense at the Water’s Edge near the pool. Water's Edge is located adjacent to the Ocean View Pool.

Activity Time: 1:00-5:00 PM (approximately 3-hour tour; located approximately 15 minutes from the resort).  Load into the motorcoach at the resort front entrance at 1 PM.   

Activity Description: Embark on your food-focused excursion at locally owned establishments where you can savor some of the best food and drink that Carlsbad has to offer. To complement your foodie exploration of each destination, your guide offers interesting commentary about the lovely Victorian architecture and old-fashioned storefronts that fill downtown Carlsbad. Guests also receive the Carlsbad Tasting Guide, which features local maps and exclusive discounts and coupons to give you special access to Carlsbad’s unique, artisan food scene. 

Tour Details: This guided experience includes tastings at five restaurants. Complimentary water will be available on the motorcoach and at each restaurant stop. The group will be broken down into smaller groups of 20-25 people in each group on the bus.

• 1:45-2:15 pm: Tasting at Village Kabob: Mezze Sampler Tasting.  Village Kabob offers a one-of-a-kind Mediterranean fusion eatery. Familiar menu with Mezzes and Spreads. Water provided (additional drinks may be purchased separately). Group 1 taste at Village Kabob, Group 2 taste at Fresco Cocina.

 

• 2:15-2:45 pm: Tasting at Fresco Cocina: Rib Taco & Margarita Tasting (1 four-ounce margarita).  Fresco Cocina serves a modern interpretation of Mexican cuisine.  Water provided (additional drinks may be purchased separately). Group 1 taste at Fresco Cocina, Group 2 taste at Village Kabob.

 

• 2:45-3:00 pm: Explore Carlsbad Village: Walk through Carlsbad’s scenic and historic sites.

 

• 3:00-3:15 pm: Explore the Carlsbad Village Mural Art: See vibrant murals that tell Carlsbad’s story.

 

• 3:15-3:45 pm: Tasting at Gregorio’s Italian: Eggplant Parma Tasting.  A casual Italian dining experience. Water provided (additional drinks may be purchased separately).

 

• 3:45-4:00 pm: Tasting at Gelato Love: 4 Flavors of gelato to taste.  Gelato Love blends the most authentic art of gelato making with top quality ingredients. Water provided (additional drinks may be purchased separately).

 

• 4:00-4:30 pm: Tasting at Pure Project: Beer (2 five ounce pours) or Wine (1 six ounce pour). Water provided (additional drinks may be purchased separately).
